East Cooper Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1990, in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo. Using donations from several area Churches, numerous enthusiastic volunteers and a gift of land from the town of Mount Pleasant, the first two East Cooper homes Habitat homes were constructed. Subsequently, more lots were purchased and more houses built. To date, we have completed 49 homes.
